. [proponent of radicalism]: Brother, what do you think of the Taliban?...[host]: Well, there are some merits and some of the things are not correct...
. [radical]: what is not correct?...[host]: for example, violence against women and children is not according to Sharia... [radical]: No, brother, it is halaal!...

Concept of 73 FACTIONS...

As sincere as the underlying intent may be, this approach violates the fundamental tenet of Sharia, namely that the obedience to the Almighty Creator of the Universe is rendered null and void if not compliant to the method demonstrated by Prophet. This method is called the Sunnah and it applies strictly in the public dimension. This means in the private domain a person or group can act completely against the Sharia and still have their rights protected purely on the basis of claiming to comply. However, as soon as the matter enters the public domain it has to comply to the Sharia, including the Sunnah, both individually as well as collectively.

This means that a person can pray 24/7 but if the method is deviant from Sunnah then it cannot be allotted any value publicly even though it may accrue merit in the Hereafter based only on intention. Similarly, collectively the standard of compliance has also been set by Prophet, as explicitly stated in the Hadith about the 73 deviant factions.
